Elections

Elections for the 2009-2010 Student Council will be held in May 2009.

Student Council Election Information

Consider running for Student Council if you interested in:

The attached sheet lists the detailed eligibility requirements, but basically you’ll need to:

Available Positions:

Student Council President-Elect:  Open to sophomores only. You’ll “learn the ropes” so that you’re ready to be President during your senior year.  You will be responsible for planning and running all meetings and making sure that things are getting done.

Student Council Secretary-Treasurer:  Open to all grades.  You’re the record keeper.  You will type and distribute agendas before meetings, take notes at meetings, and keep track of money coming in and going out.

Class Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Member-at-Large):  Open to all.  In addition to serving on Student Council, it is your job to foster class unity and get your class organized for events like Homecoming and Color Day.  The Secretary/Treasurer will also be in charge of keeping the records for your class.

The Senior Class Officers are traditionally the ones who will be responsible for planning class reunions in the future!

Club Representatives:  Open to one member of each club.  In addition to serving on Student Council, you will be the liaison between Student Council and your club; it’s your job to keep each group (your club and Student Council) informed about the other group’s activities.
