PFA (Parents and Friends Association) is a great way to become involved at LHS! As a parent of a LHS student you are already a member! Last year the money raised from the Concessions stand, Schnucks E-script cards, Entertainment books, Spirit Wear sales, & uniform resale funded many items for both curricular and co-curricular activities. A few examples include an EKG & Blood pressure sensor, a hand Dynameter, a Boreal scope, an Apple Projector, Africa books, Science Electric scale and drying rack, Intoximeter and brass congos. There were also funds used for various organizations Senior awards, Grad night, Mom's In Touch & Teens for Life. Your help and support are needed to ensure that the 2009/10 school year is a success.
The next PFA meeting will take place on Tuesday 9/15 at 7:00pm in Student Services.
The Purpose and Function of PFA:
The purposes of Lutheran High PFA shall be to create and to develop interest in Christian secondary education, It shall support the efforts of the Board of Directors of the Lutheran High School Associations of St. Charles County through assistance with financial aid for Lutheran High School. It shall also assist in promoting the religious, social, and cultural welfare of the students. The aim shall be to encourage and to promote fellowship among the parents of the present and former students, the faculty member, and the alumni.
PFA Activites over the years:
Consessions for LHS invitational Tournaments (Volleyball & Basketball), Lutheran Elementary Tournaments (Volleyball & Basketball), Ockoberfest- Funnel cake booth at St. Charles Riverfront, Concessions for all home games, Craft Fair, Century Club Dinner (Prepare meal, Host for Family Education Series (Topics last few years including: Straight Talk About Sexuality, Drug Awareness, Gang Awareness, Parenting Issues), Chili Dinner, Garage Sale, Dinner Theater, Hospitality room for parents attending the New Student Orientation and Future Freshman Day, Concessions at Riverport Concerts, Citrus Sales, Spirit Wear, and sale of Entertainment Books.
PFA- Funded Projects at LHS in the following departments:
Art, Music, Drama, Athletics, Science, Libary, Technology, Student Council, Kingdom workers, Teens for life. Over the past few years about $13,000 has been donated annually to various departments of the school to benefits of students and faculty.
A friendly reminder to activate and utilize the Schnuck’s E-scripts cards that were picked up from the
PFA table at Back To School Night. It’s a great and easy way to earn $$ for LHS! If you did not get a card,
they are available at any Schnuck’s customer service counter.
